Road Bike Track Trial at Kampung Melayu - Tanah Abang JLNT is Extended to Saharjo Flyover

Jakarta Transportation Agency (Dishub) has extended the road bike track along Kampung Melayu - Tanah Abang JLNT to Saharjo Flyover, Tebet in the second trial, on Sunday (5/30). Last week, the trial was only until Casablanca Flyover.

Socialization and education to the public will be conducted continuously

In the field, a number of vehicles coming from Kampung Melayu to Tanah Abang had to be diverted to Jalan Saharjo, where they must turn to Jalan Casablanca.

On access to Kampung Melayu - Tanah Abang JLNT across from Kota Casablanca (kokas), Kuningan, officers were seen stopping cyclists and diverted to the normal route via Jalan Casablanca, due to steep inclines that could endanger them.

Dishub Head, Syafrin Liputo disclosed that the trial was reinstated and also for evaluation. It would will from 5 AM to 8 AM.

In the field, he saw an increase in racing bike users. They also began to be disciplined when using the JLNT track as a road bike.

"Socialization and education to the public will be conducted continuously. He also wants to improve facilities in the form of supporting infrastructure for maximized safety and security aspects," he said.

He even also provided two ambulances in the front of Citywalk and across Kokas in order to prevent unwanted things.

"Hopefully, all participants who will enter the road bike track can prepare themselves well. By so, unwanted things at the location can be minimized," he hoped.

He added the track would be permanent if it had passed through the discussion involving cross-sectoral.
